Celler Balmaprat is a small family winery in Porrera. Our story begins in 2008, when we, Josep M. Del Aguila and Mayte Pellicer, converted the ground floor of a house in Porrera to start making our own wine with grapes from the family vineyard of La Balma.
La Balma is a west-facing vineyard with hundred year-old vines, most of them Grenache and Carignan, growing on hillsides made up of different types of slate. Our output is very small; everything we do is by hand, both in the vineyard and in the winery, and this allows us to take great care over the whole process.
We are probably one of the smallest wineries in the whole of the DOQ Priorat. Within the little space we have, we try to make all tours friendly and personal, sharing our enthusiasm for our surroundings, for a good job well done and for quality.
