Cellers Scala Dei

Cellers Scala Dei

The origins of Cellers de Scala Dei date back to the 19th century when, following the dissolution of the Spanish monasteries, the families of the present owners bought the lands of the monastery of Scala Dei and pioneered the bottling of wine in the Priorat. The winery is partly housed in buildings formerly belonging to the monks. The ageing cellar is a 17th-century construction, beneath the imposing building where the procurador, the monks’ administrator, lived.
