Vinícola del Priorat was set up in 1991 to bring together the production of the local cooperatives (Gratallops, El Lloar, La Vilella Alta and La Vilella Baixa), due to the need for modern technology in the wine and olive oil making processes. Our wine, with the DOQ Priorat designation of origin, is characterised by a low yield per vine. This is a result of the complicated terrain of the Priorat, with vineyards on slopes of more than 30%, of the llicorella (fragmented slate) soil and of the age of the vines (about 60 years old). This set of factors gives the wine exceptional quality and international prestige. Our olive oil mill is in La Vilella Alta, housed in the village Cooperative building and producing extra virgin olive oil made from the arbequina olive variety, with the DOP Siurana designation of origin. The main labels we market are Ònix Clàssic, Ònix Fusió, Ònix Evolució, Clos Gebrat, L’Obaga and Nadiu.
