WINE TOURISM

ENIGMASROIG (Masroig)

MASROIG CELLAR Enigmasroig, family winery. From Monday 11 to Thursday 14 at 16:00.

 

The Enigmasroig activity is designed for families to enjoy a more enjoyable visit to the winery. For this reason, we propose a tour in which children can learn about its history and see how wine is produced while deciphering a series of riddles and clues, which will lead to a prize at the end of the visit.

From the centuries-old trullos to the new boathouse, you can discover the winery and the world of wine in an interactive and fun way. At the end of the visit, there will be a wine tasting and the children will be able to taste must and extra virgin olive oil.

Price: €10 for adults and €5 for each child.

Places: 1 family per turn.

Reservation is required at least one day in advance. Availability according to reservation order.

 

TAST OF MODERNISM COOPERATIVE OF CORNUDELLA DE MONTSANT

With the Taste of Modernism, you will discover the spectacular facilities of this century-old winery.

 

An industrial monument by Cèsar Martinell, an architect from Vallenc who left his mark on the Tarragona province. An emblematic building of Cornudella de Montsant that we find only when entering the town and a special place to taste wines that have matured in the best possible way over the years.

In addition, you will be able to discover the amazing places of the building, you will learn about the main differences between the winemaking process of our ancestors and the current production and marketing system.

At the end of the visit, you will be able to taste 3 of the wines produced in the same winery, accompanied by some local products.

COOPERATIVE OF CORNUDELLA DE MONTSANT

Vermouth time is one of the best times of the weekend. Whether with your partner, family or friends.

 

It is for this reason that we want to invite you to our Celler, a century-old modernist building full of old and beautiful surprises in order to enjoy an enogastronomic activity, visiting the cellar, tasting our vermouth, and two of the wines we make , and all accompanied by the typical piscolabis.

Sundays at 12 noon
For groups of more than 10 people, there is the option of arranging a special visit.
ATTENTION!! You must book in advance, no later than 11am on the same day.

SURPRISE TASTING AT DEVINSSI (Gratallops)

Have you ever tried a blind wine tasting? Well, among the wines that will be tasted at Celler Devinssi this Easter (from March 29 to April 1), there will be a surprise wine to discover and enjoy.

 

We will taste it blind. Suitable for all skill/interest levels!

The surprise tasting also includes a glass of our cava ” Le jardin de ma tante

Between 1917 and 1933, 5 cooperatives were born in a single region with less than 20,000 inhabitants, today less than 10,000 live there and they continue to join efforts to maintain a unique land that makes great wines.

We will discover 1 wine from each of the cooperatives at the same time as small stories that lead us into modernist buildings, rooftops with damajoanas in the sun and serenity, artistic wine labels …. and brushstrokes on DO Montsant and DOQ Priorat.

Day 2. “THE CRADLE OF THE PRIORATE”, Escaladei
– Visit to the Carthusian monastery of Scala Dei , the first Carthusian monastery in Spain and the birthplace of the Priory
– Guided visit to Cellers de Scala Dei , the emblematic place where, in 1878, the first bottle of Priorat wine came out.
– Lunch at Escaladei (not included)
– Guided visit to La Conreria d’Scala Dei , a winery born from the will and enthusiasm of a group of people historically linked to the Priorat, with the desire to make known to the world the magnificent wines that are made in this land

Day 3. “OIL, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PRIORY”, Cabacés
Accompanied by the owners of the Miró Cubells Mill , you will discover the olive trees, the mill and enjoy a traditional lunch accompanied by one of the best oils in the world: arbequina oil!

Day 4. “THE MODERN PRIORY”, Gratallops
In the 1980s, the Priorat was in a state of decline, with abandoned vineyards and impoverished wineries. However, a group of pioneers recognized the potential of the unique terroir and old vines. Gratallops in particular became the center of this revolution and the town became a focus of innovation and production of high quality wines.
– Guided visit to the Clos Figueras Winery and lunch at the Les Figueres Restaurant : Clos Figueras was acquired in 1997 by Charlotte and Christopher Cannan. Clos Figueras has an original estate of old Grenache and Carignan vines. In addition, other varieties such as syrah, cabernet and viognier have been planted. Les Figueres is a wine tourism and restaurant area that bets on local, organic, seasonal and good quality products to prepare food and tapas.
– Guided tour Clos Pachem : In 2015, Michel Grupper started the global wine project in the Priorat to which he gave the name Clos Pachem, an acronym for the names of his children: PAul, CHarles and EMma. A winery focused on its people, on the history of the Priorat and on a philosophy of sustainable cultivation, which allows the creation of subtle and elegant wines that create experiences and accompany unique moments.

Day 5. “COOPERATIVISM AND MODERNISM”, Falset
You will discover the essence of the cooperative movement in DO Montsant from a wine cathedral: the Falset Cooperative . A great modernist project by Cèsar Martinell and which currently continues to group winegrowers who manage the entire process of production, elaboration and marketing of wine.

– Circular route of about 14 km at the foot of the Montsant Natural Park, following a section of the Camí de Cortoixans until climbing to the highest point of the range: Roca Corbatera at 1164m. On the way down you will pass the Hermitage of Sant Joan del Codolar, the only occupied hermitage in Montsant.
– In the afternoon, the “Taste of Modernisme” will take you to discover the Celler Cooperatiu de Cornudella, a modernist building, the work of César Martinell and one of the well-known Cathedrals of Wine.

Day 1. ARRIVAL AT THE PRIOR’S LAND
In La Morera de Montsant, you will find Celler Pasanau . In 1995, the Pasanau brothers, with their father’s encouragement, built the winery where they make their wines today. The family has been cultivating vineyards in the Priorat for centuries, the oldest references go back to the 14th century.

After settling in at Hotel Balco del Priorat , you will enjoy the Entrevinyes en 4×4 , a circular itinerary between vineyards with a 4×4 vehicle, passing by farms registered in both the Priorat DOQ and the Montsant DO . You will make a stop at a Grenache farm where, apart from getting to know our viticulture in situ, you will be able to taste locally produced cheese accompanied by a good wine.

Day 2: THE CRADLE OF THE PRIORATE
The Charterhouse of Scala Dei . You will start the day with a visit to the Carthusian monastery of Scala Dei, founded in the 12th century by Alfons the Chaste and it was the first monastery in the Iberian Peninsula, from which the other Catalan monasteries arose. Their domains shaped the historical territory of the Priory, smaller than the current county of the same name.

You will then visit the La Conreria d’Scala Dei Winery , born from the will and enthusiasm of a group of people historically linked to the Priorat, with the desire to make the world aware of the magnificent wines that are made in this land .
