TERRER FESTIVAL

LOS FUMERO
Saturday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. €22
Cabacés Theater
Two musicians united by the same last name, which is already a living history of jazz in our country, present this exceptional project formed by the pianist and singer Lucia Fumero and the double bassist Horacio Fumero. Father and daughter show a natural complicity immortalized in their first duo album where you can listen to their own compositions such as Camino or Torcacita and their own arrangements of songs from the Latin American popular music repertoire.
SAN JOSEX & CARLES BELDA “CANTUT”
Saturday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m
€25 El Casal, Porrera

The two Carlos fully immersed themselves in the online songbook Càntut: Cançons de tradicione oral, promoted by the musicologist Albert Massip and which traces the footprint of oral tradition singing in the regions of Girona. Then he collected about a thousand recordings (now there are almost twice as many!) and from all of them they chose the fifteen songs that would end up making up the album that, as a tribute, they named with the same name as the songbook. Two musicians from Osona, the violinist Coloma Bertran and the multi-instrumentalist Jordi Casadesús, joined the adventure in order to transport this songbook to a new dimension, always with one foot clinging to tradition and the other playing with the avant-garde.

MOST INTERNATIONAL WINE CINEMA FESTIVAL

Most Festival is an international event that collects the best audiovisual production related to the culture of the vineyard, wine and cava. Likewise, the festival toasts to good cinema with the screening of films by great directors that have not been commercially released.

Located in the Penedès, and since 2016 also in the Priorat, two territories with a long wine tradition and various wine tourism attractions, the festival aims to spread the arts and wine cultures through audiovisual creation, as well as to approach the oenology from all possible aspects, enhancing values such as quality, diversity or involvement with the territory.

AND WE JOIN THE RECOGNITION OF…

AGUILÓ VINATERIA

Aguiló Vinateria, from Falset, won the prize as a best specialist shop at the International Wine Challenge Industry Awards Spain 2023 . These are prizes that have been awarded in the State for 8 years, although in the United Kingdom, where they were born, they have been awarded for 25 years and are highly prestigious.

Aguiló Vinateria is a historic establishment in Falset, specializing in Priorat and Montsant wines. As one of the heads visible in front of the company, Enric Aguiló, says, “I like to explain that, basically, we have grown in parallel with the wine resurgence of this region because thirty years ago most of the wineries that are there now, they simply did not exist. Almost everything is new projects. So it’s been our turn to evolve alongside them, and we’ve learned many things together. It has been our turn to be the commercial witness of an unusual oenological, winemaking and social resurgence”.

Enric Aguiló is very satisfied with the award received which, in his opinion, is also recognition of all the work that has been done in a small and rural territory such as the Priorat region.

Tasting Cal Compte

Tasting Cal Compte

Wine Tasting in Cal Compte, a tribute to the Mediterranean triad

Space, time, the company and Mediterranean products: wine, oil and bread. These are the elements that combine Tasting Cal Compte, which this year reaches the eighth. A ceremony held on the terrace of Cal Compte Torroja del Priorat, within the framework of the Falset Wine Fair. On Sunday, May 1, from 11 am to 14h pm, attendees can sample wines from the cellars of Torroja, extra virgin olive oil and organic breads. “The essence of the tasting is to enjoy the moment, space, the magnificent spring landscape from the Cal Compte terraces and Mediterranean products: olive oil, wine and bread” explains the owner Anna Figueras . This act is intended “to give more content to the Wine Fair, more variety of events, while a window was so small wineries in Priorat Torroja could be present and show the quality of their wines” Anna Figueras adds.

Accompanying wine are peat oil and bread. “In addition to wine, we consider doing a tribute to meeting the Mediterranean triad, so we add the bread and oil.” In this edition every year and “we will taste the wines of ten wineries from Torroja del Priorat, breads of two ovens and five oils from Reus and Tarragona region.

It’s a tasting aimed at all audiences, “there are those who already know the wines but there is always something to discover and there are those who discover them and become prescribers of the product. In fact, it is a taste that many people repeated every year and places are very limited “adds the owner of Cal Compte. A recommended day to enjoy it, “is a unique experience that has to live at least once in life, but then you get addicted to the site and the environment” concludes Anna Figueras.

Tast amb Llops, 10 years of wine adventure

Tast amb Llops, 10 years of wine adventure

Tast amb Llops, organized by the Hotel Cal Llop, has become a wine festival of reference for wine lovers.

From a meeting of friends to a reference event for wine lovers. The essence, however, remains the same: “talk about wines, laugh and enjoy a good time”. Tast amb Llops, the wine festival of Gratallops, celebrates the tenth edition next April 30 in the framework of the Wine Fair. With the intention of publicizing the wines made by Gratallops wineries and guest processors, more than 50 wineries from around the world have already passed through the oenological event. Wines, gastronomy, music and good company have been the traveling companions, over the last ten years, of Tast amb Llops.

The first edition was held in 2006 when “we met two friends, young Gratallops winemakers, and we thought about tasting, a party between us and some nearby guests to celebrate their first wines made in the Priorat” explains Cristina Jiménez, owner Of the Hotel Cal Llop and organizer of the tasting. The intention was clear: to have a good time. “Talk about wines, laugh and enjoy a good time tasting the first wines they had made, listening to their secrets and their stories”.

From the meeting between friends came the idea of professionalizing the meeting and expanding the circle to enjoy the appointment with other fellow travelers. “The following year of the first edition, we decided to do it in a more professional way and it was proposed the organization of the Falset Wine Fair, to include the event in the framework of the contest. In addition, the Celler de Capçanes also began with its first Night of the Garnatxes and was great because they were born the first events that were added to the Wine Fair “explains Cristina Jiménez.

A strong bet that has been consolidated as a reference oenological appointment with ten years of experience. “We took advantage of the fact that from the DOQ Priorat, the designation: Vi de Vila was being developed” and we talked with other Gratallops winemakers to invite them to participate and the 10 magnificent Tast amb Llops were joined and now we are 12 unconditional “adds Cristina.

The objective was to highlight the unique personality of Gratallops wines and their particular expression, fruit of the characteristics of the area. Apart from the Gratallops wineries, in parallel, they also began to invite other wineries in the region and around the world. The public profile of the wine festival is similar: “curious, passionate about wine, endowed with an extraordinary hunger and refined taste in the musical aspect”, explains Cristina Jiménez.

After ten years, it’s time to look back and take stock. “We have become ten years older, more rancid, but in the positive sense that wine also has after aging well,” explains Cristina. The desire to have a good time and share good wines are the same as the first day: “we continue with the same spirit: talk, laugh, drink excellent limited edition wines and meet another year with all of us, those who have accompanied us, Old and new friends, to continue listening to their stories and secrets, “adds Cristina.
