Mas Ardèvol has been awarded “Casa Rural Starlight 2022” recognition

Today, we’d like to give you some good news about one of our member places of accommodation: Mas Ardèvol has been awarded “Casa Rural Starlight 2022” recognition. But what exactly does this recognition mean? Read on!

Mas Ardèvol is an eco-sustainable masia (traditional farmhouse), located between the villages of Falset and Porrera, in the county of Priorat and the Montsant Nature Park (within the “Montañas de Prades y Serra de Montsant” Starlight Tourist Destination).

In addition to the surrounding landscape, you can enjoy the most amazing night skies – the main reason why this family-run farm has been awarded Starlight Certification.

Starlight Certification for Rural Hotels and Houses are places of accommodation that have received certification from the Starlight Foundation. These establishments – as well as offering accredited quality accommodation – also become involved as active agents in promoting the values set out in the Declaration in Defence of the Night Sky and the Right to Starlight (La Palma Declaration).

The Mas Ardèvol farm has been family owned since the mid-1600s, although the farmhouse itself dates back 1800. Restored with local materials, the building is traditional in style and has five very original and extremely comfortable double rooms (including deluxe and superior) …it’s everything you need to become enchanted by the colour and magic of Priorat’s landscapes.

This rural tourism accommodation also has an eco-friendly swimming pool and its own vegetable garden. Furthermore, guests are offered various activities – some linked to star gazing – such as a wine tasting during a Perseids meteor shower. This rural farmhouse is the ideal place for enjoying wine tourism and experiencing a taste of Priorat via its wines and olive oils, all accompanied by Catalonian cuisine.
