The 10th ‘Grenaches du Monde’ contest was held in Olite (Navarre) at the beginning of the month of May. Nearly 900 wines were sampled by international experts from 12 different countries. Some of our partner wineries were recognised for their wines. Would you like to know which ones? Keep on reading!
Just to put everything into context, the international contest Grenaches du Monde was created in 2013 by the Interprofessional Council for Rosellón Wines (CIVR) in Perpignan. Later on, specifically in 2016, awards ceremonies began to be held in other cities: in 2016 in Campo de Borja (Aragon), in 2017 in Sardinia (Italy) and in 2018 in Terra Alta (Catalonia).
In 2019, it returned to Perpignan and in 2020, it was held in Montpellier in collaboration with Wines of Pays de Oc, the world’s leading producer of Grenache rosé wines. In 2021, the pandemic caused the event to be divided up among 4 cities: Cebreros (Spain), Perpignan (France), Chateauneuf-du-Pape (France) and Ascoli Piceno (Italy).
This year, at the 10th edition, some of our partner wineries had reason to celebrate as they were granted the following prizes:
